The 2024 Plant and Pollinator Summer BioBlitz

The first group of npAp interns conducted the inaugural BioBlitz in Norwood Park and the Little Falls Stream Valley Trail Park during the week of June 30, 2024. npAp plans to repeat this in 2025. 2024 results include:

395 observations of 175 unique species

77 plant, 69 insect, 10 arachnid, 8 fungi, 7 bird, and 4 mammal species observations

The most observed species was the Versute Sharpshooter (Graphocephala versuta), a small green, pale blue, and orange striped leafhopper insect named from the Latin versutus, translating to ‘cunning.’
