The Sumner Village Stormwater Management project is done and you are invited to come see it and learn about how this system is working for clean water in our watershed.
Sumner Village
Tennis Court #2 (by Building 13)
4910 Sentinel Road, Bethesda MD
The area by the Sumner Village Tennis Court #2 was a sea of mud and the Sumner Village Tributary was experiencing severe erosion from uphill run-off. Nothing could grow there and every year more and more of the creek banks were disappearing. Thus, the Sumner Village Storm water Project was conceived to manage the water so that it would soak into the ground and to replant the area with native grasses, wildflowers and shrubs.

The project is funded by a grant from the Montgomery County Water Quality Protection Fund and administered by the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
