Did you know there is a creek in Westbard? The Willett Branch runs through Westbard between River Road and Little Falls Parkway in a concrete ditch with walls covered in graffiti, the banks littered with tires, appliances and other trash. It’s truly an eyesore. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. There is an innovative plan for restoring the creek to its natural state.
Join Little Falls Watershed Alliance for a tour of the creek and see for yourself what a gem this could be for our area. Learn about the plan for a naturalized creek and a new stream valley park. The walk is about a half mile long and will follow the creek downstream as it winds through the Westbard sector behind auto garages and through parking lots. Optional return will be up the actual creek. Bring boots and flash lights if you are interested in returning on this path. The creek is paved the entire length and the water is very shallow (less than 3 inches).
