Meeting location TBA. As construction in the area closes roads and parking lots almost daily, we will send everyone who registers an email about where to meet. Look for it on Saturday.
Did you know there is a creek in Westbard? The Willett Branch runs through Westbard between River Road and Little Falls Parkway in a concrete ditch with walls covered in graffiti, the banks littered with tires, appliances and other trash. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. There is an innovative plan for restoring the creek to its natural state.
Join Little Falls Watershed Alliance for a tour of the creek and see for yourself what a gem this could be for our area. Learn about the plan for a naturalized creek and a new stream valley park. The walk is about a half mile long and will follow the creek downstream as it winds through the Westbard sector behind auto garages and through parking lots. Return will be up the actual creek. The creek is paved the entire length and the water is very shallow (less than 3 inches). Entrance is down a slope and exit is by ladder. Bring boots and flash lights if you are interested in returning on this path.
