In response to the evolving circumstances with the COVID-19 virus, beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is closing all events taking place in parks and at park facilities through April 31.

Please note: Outdoor areas of the parks will remain open to the public from sunrise to sunset.

Back by popular demand - a repeat of our First Day Hike. Have you ever wondered where the Little Falls Branch goes? Join us round-trip hike following the stream as it winds its way to Potomac at Little Falls (near Lock 5 of the C&O Canal). We will meet at the Park entrance on Massachusetts Ave. There is parking at the gravel parking lot at the intersection of Mass Ave and Little Falls Parkway.

Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome. It’s an easy 5 miles round trip, almost all on hard surfaces. If you want to go all the way to the Potomac, there is about 100 yards of scrambling through the brush - you might want to have hiking boots if you’re going to do that.

In the event of inclement weather, we might cancel. We will post by 9:00 on our website if we do.
