Salt Monitoring Training Meeting

Join our Salt Monitoring Team

Meet us on the Little Falls Hiker Biker trail at the second bench (about 500 feet downstream from the Park entrance at Massachusetts Avenue and Little Falls Parkway). There is a parking lot at Little Falls and Mass Ave.

Join LFWA to kickoff to this year’s Winter Salt Watch season! Winter Salt Watch is a community science program aimed at identifying road salt pollution hot spots and raising awareness on smart salting practices. Road salt keeps our roads and sidewalks safe in the winter months, but too much can harm our streams and our health.

At this meeting, we will show you how to use the test strips, assign locations and go over when are the best times test.

We partner with the Izaak Walton League’ Winter Salt Watch program. Visit them HERE to order your free test kit and to learn more about the importance of keeping our creeks salt free. Visit HERE to learn more about our program result from previous years.

If you can’t make the meeting, please contact Sarah at stormwater@LFWA.org for more information and to volunteer for a spot.
