Green Acres Habitat Work Day

Yorktown Road and Little Falls Branch
Bethesda, MD
Parking on neighborhood streets.

Please join us for meadow maintenance. We will be focusing on weeding around the native wildflowers and shade trees. It’s a great opportunity to see what can be done with all native plants. Learn more about the Green Acres Habitat: https://www.lfwa.org/meadow-green-acres.

LFWA, in collaboration with MCDOT and Westbrook Elementary School, has planted native trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers to the area, creating a haven for native pollinators and song birds. In spring 2022, there were 66 bird species sighted!

Bring gloves and weeding tools (trowel, weeder) or use ours. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes and bring plenty of water to drink.

We will meet at the bottom of Yorktown Road where it dead ends into the Little Falls Branch. The closest address for GPS is 5301 Yorktown Road.

Pre-approved for MCPS SSL hours. Students under 14 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

COVID Safety: Participants must follow the current Maryland and CDC guidelines for COVID safe events.
